TYPE: Guatemala. auf faulendem Laub der Hochwälder bei Coban, ca. 1600 m, blühend in Nov 1907, H. von Türckheim II 1994 (holotype, B, destroyed; lectotype designated by Salazar (1994) a duplicate of the same collection annotated by R. Schlechter as "Physurus stictophyllus Schltr., n. sp.", consisting of two plants mounted on a sheet, W; isolectotypes, AMES-103161; AMES-103162; AMES-103163; AMES-103164).
